Cement Floor Shuffleboard Do I Need To Install Cement Board Before Tiling My Shower And Floor On A Cement Floor?

Do I need to install cement board before tiling my shower and floor on a cement floor? - cement floor shuffleboard

My bathroom is fairly unfinshed basement. The shower surround base is exposed, and the vinyl tiles glued on the concrete floor. Since its cement should bother installing cement board before tiling?

Thanks!

I'm with Clyde in this case. No need to put a board sponsor at the beginning of cement. However, you must remove the vinyl record, if you are also tiled.

I also agree that you want to waterproof the walls before the mosaic. I have good things about Clyde KERDI recommended system requirements as well, but another option is a role or as a spray on Redgard. You can at Home Depot. Unfortunately, this $ 40 per gallon, is it only covers about 40 square feet per gallon. It has to be about 2-3 liters of water in a standard shower (2 layers) on. There are other brands in most tile stores, but they are almost the same price.

Let me back up a minute. You already have a base and the drain in the shower and simply add an existing disk? Abu Be the flow and tightness to be careful. You are in better shape than most because it seems that it is essentially concrete, but if you see what comes out every few years when he was hurt, yourke a look here:

I'll give some links that are most places marked my wife and I were installing a shower. You may experience some good sources for information and discussion, if you're interested. Good luck.

Hello
Before starting the coating must, vinyl tiles are removed, already adhered to the concrete floor. After removing vinyl tiles on the upper surface of the cement should b rubbed with a wire brush and clean thoroughly and ensure that the adhesive and the bulk material must be rubbed in the background. The image of the bed layer of pure cement / cement board should be applied in the concrete floor and then shoulder you start the installation of tiles.

You do not need any advice on the ground, but we recommend a type of waterproofing walls, especially if this is your foundation walls to the outside. You can KERDI Mat Dal Tile does this and more out of bricks. It is waterproof and prevents the formation of mold.

Check No, that it is really clean the old tile and thin set, the new thin-set is to be with an acrylic additive mixed into the clay-based, it is a very strong and n 'is not a problem .
